Q: How do you get motivated to conquer a workout?

A: A lot of times when you get to the gym and you wonder how you’re going to get this going.  The main thing is warm-up. You don’t just warm up the body, you warm up the mind. If you warm up your mind then everything will flow.

Now, the biggest thing here is music. Find that music, find that soul, find whatever moves you. I think, whatever moves the soul will move you. So if you can find a way to do things naturally because you want your body to move organically that is how you go about. But get that music into you, find music that motivates you put it on repeat and find that zone

Find that zone, if you get that zone, I promise you will be able to take a workout to a whole other level.

Q: How long does it typically take you to get in that zone, that fit zone?

A: The typical warm-up takes about five to 15 minutes. It really does. If you are able to hone in on that warm-up, you will be able to conquer the rest of your workout.

The warm-up is the most important part of it all. During the warm-up that is when you are trying to find out: Do I feel this workout? How can I jive to this workout?  Is the music right? Is my mind right?

If you feel like crap then take that crap and go at it. You have to take things head on. If you don’t it’s going to be another challenge to get through it. At the end of the day you have to find that zone. If for some reason you are having a bad day then think of something that has been successful that has happened over the past week.  There should be something that happened within the week, there should be something great that happened and use that as momentum to build up motivation for your workout. Remember, when you work out and you feel good about doing it at the end of the day you’ll be surprised how much more successful your day will go.
